Final Project

The hipoglycemic activity of ethanol extract of cherry (capulin) leaf (Muntingia calabura L.) and ethanol extract of gourd yellow (Cucurbita moschata (Duchesne ex Lamk) Duchesne ex Poiret) had been researched by using glucose tolerance test method in male Wistar rate. Ethanol extract of cherry (capulin) leaf are used at doses 0,1875 g/kg BW, 0,375 g/kg BW and 0,750 g/kg BW. While ethanol extract of gourd yellow are used at doses 0,265 g/kg BW, 0,530 g/kg BW and 1,062 g/kg BW. Blood glucose rate measured to T0, T30, T60, T90, T120, until T150. Result of research indicates that ethanol extract of cherry (capulin) leaf at dose 0,1875 g/kg BW don’t have hipoglycemic activity, while ethanol extract of cherry (capulin) leaf at doses 0,375 g/kg BW and 0,750 g/kg BW have hipoglycemic activity compare with control group. While ethanol extract of gourd yellow at dose 0,530 g/kg BW has better hipoglycemic activity in compare at doses 0,265 g/kg BW and 1,062 g/kg BW. Where strarting from 30 minutes until 150 minutes have difference having a meaning in compare with control group (α < 0,05).
